Performancecast.tv nominated as an innovator!

Postby BrandenPCTV » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:38 am

Today we’re covering musician/entrepreneur Branden de Haas. I have a deep history in live music, so I’m extremely excited about the potential of his site performancecast.tv. Check out his site and his answers below, so you can decide whether or not he comes to SXSW (which we can thank Pepsi for!!!).

1. Tell me who you are in 140 characters or less.

I am Branden de Haas. I’m a musician from Huntington Beach California and I am the creator of performancecast.tv

2. Why and how did you get involved in the music industry?

I got involved with the music industry because I am a musician myself and realized with technology today there is better ways for a band to promote themselves then had been being done. Performancecast.tv allows bands to broadcast a performance live from a small venue to a worldwide audience.

3. What’s your idea? Does your idea/your work/your company fill a void in the music industry? Is your idea working? why or why not?

The idea behind Performancecast.tv is simple, give artists the ability to broadcast live streaming video filling a void that had yet to be filled, be it a music performance or a simple artist to fan webcam chat on the artists channel which also incorporates many of the features of social media such as that of Myspace music and twitter all combined into one site for musicians. By doing so the artists expand their audience immensely and promote themselves on a level that has no boundries by using social technology and media.

While the site is still in beta it appears to have a mass appeal to artists and fans alike with even industry taking an interest. With very few competitors Performancecast.tv appears to be the only live strictly music site allowing bands to broadcast anytime and anywhere.

4. Do you have a web presence? How well does your presence measure on a metrics/analytic tool (Google, Compete, Quantcast, etc…)?

Visitors to the site grow on a continuous basis (as per Google Analytics) however we are looking for funding support to bring a much more scalable version of the site upon final release.

5. What are you doing to promote FlashFwd and getting people to nominate you?

Performancecast.tv has been using social technologies including Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Performancecast.tv, to promote FlashFwd to gain Nominations.

If you think Brad has what it takes, here is his info to nominate him:
